If you are looking for any sort of depth in a film, this one's not for you. If you're looking for a fun, funny film, this is it! In my opinion, this is far and away Sean Penn's best performance thus far. Jeff Spicoli and his friends are the essence of the 80's. Everyone is looking to get 1) high and 2) laid. The film shows the happiness, frustration, ugliness, and joy of being a teen during the 80's. However, none of this goes too deeply, so the viewer need not do anything except enjoy the (largely sophomoric) humor. This is one not to be missed.
